George M. Chalos Featured in The Arrest News on Shiparrested.com
George M. Chalos of Chalos & Co, P.C. – International Law Firm has recently contributed an article to the inaugural issue of The Arrest News, a brand new quarterly newsletter available on Shiparrested.com. This first newsletter was distributed worldwide to more than 4,000 people specializing in the ship arrest industry.
The article, entitled "U.S. Pre- and Post- Judgment Remedies After SCI v. Jaldhi," discusses how Supplemental Admiralty Rules B and C may continue to be used to attach or arrest a defendant's tangible or intangible property, including vessels. The article also addresses how recent New York State Court decisions have opened the door for new pre- and post- judgment remedies when a defendant is registered to do business in New York State and/or otherwise subjects itself to the jurisdiction of the New York State Courts.
